Vista Vet Animal Hospital & Pet Lodge
is pleased to be open serving the veterinary and boarding needs of Round Rock and the surrounding communities. We are privately owned and pride ourselves in our philosophy that veterinary care must be tailored to each individual patient. Veterinary medicine is not “one size fits all”. From our vaccine protocols to anesthesia, surgery, dentistry and diet, each patient is individually assessed by our doctor(s) and we educate and communicate with our clients to derive the best healthcare plan.
Dr. Roach is a native New Yorker hailing from the borough of Queens. He is not only a skilled veterinarian, but Dr. Roach is also an accomplished scholar. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from Iowa State University (ISU). After earning a Master of Science degree in Immunology from his alma mater, he continued his research and intensive studies, going on to receive his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from ISU. During his senior year of veterinary school, Dr. Roach was the recipient of the Arthur B. Lederer Memorial Award for Humanism and Interest in Small Animal Practice along with the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society’s award for Proficiency in Emergency and Critical Care Medicine. He has been practicing veterinary medicine for 15+ years. His professional interests include dentistry, surgery and internal medicine.
When not providing top quality care to his patients, Dr. Roach enjoys watching football and is an avid sports fan supporting all New York teams (except the Yankees). Now that Texas is his home, he is trying to root for Texas teams but it is a work in progress.
His personal pets include a pet snake, a Ball Python named Thumbelina.
Nicole’s career in the veterinary field started when she was 16 years old. She started out as an animal care taker in kennel at a local veterinary hospital in Las Vegas, and as she matured she furthered her development and education in veterinary medicine by becoming a licensed veterinary technician. She attended the College of Southern Nevada and graduated in 2009 with an Associate’s of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology.
Nicole loves being a veterinary technician because of the many rewards she receives from providing excellent patient care, mentoring and teaching the support staff, and working alongside our doctors. Her specialty is performing dental cleanings (she loves the “Before” and “After”photos we take of each dental patient). She enjoys assisting with emergency medicine, monitoring patients during surgery, and watching each of her kitten and puppy patients mature into adulthood.
In her spare time Nicole can be found working out at the gym, spending time outdoors, watching her Baltimore Ravens play during football season, or hanging out with friends. She especially loves spending quality time with her rescued Capuchin Monkey, Max, and her cat Splinter.
